SUPAUL: The kidnapping of teenage daughter of Triveniganj JD (U) MLA Amala Devi’s sister from Birpur in Supaul district on March 16 has shocked the people. The 14-year-old daughter of Amala Devi’s sister Reena was staying at her maternal grandfather’s residence at Parmanandpur under Birpur police station for pursuing her studies. She is a Class IX student at Government High School, Birpur and had also joined a private coaching centre there, sources said.
As the story goes, Reena was on her way to the coaching institute at Birpur around 8 am on Monday, when she was allegedly whisked away and kidnapped, police said quoting the FIR. After several attempts to trace the girl came a cropper till Tuesday, the girl’s maternal grandfather and former panchayat secretary Chulah Sardar lodged an FIR with the Birpur PS on Tuesday slamming charges of kidnapping on young boys-Mohammad Moin and Arshad, Birpur police station SHO Gyan Prakash told TOI on Wednesday.
It is apprehended that the kidnappers have sneaked into neighbouring Nepal. The police, however, did not confirm a report that one of the kidnappers Arshad is back home and refused his involvement.
